in 1989 RoyB had an idea to put together a radio station that would play music that all the main stream stations wouldn't .In those early days only some of the undergound music was tagged with it's own genre and the main tags where rave music and dance it was a world wide movement that was gaining strength because of pirae radio.fantasy fm centre force and the RoyB's Friends fm where the main players and it was from this new radio promotion that alot of todays main artist got a foot on the dance map.Friends radio where very different in the way they pulled the radio punters in most dj's had never even been on radio before so this was there stage to show london how good they where.The station policy on music was so far in front of the over stations that the policy worked for all in the friends netwerk.RoyB said from day one you play what you want as long as the liseners enjoyed it.some big party promtors owe their success to friends radio and the way the whole station got behind an event.world party fantazia Telepathy in The name of love Alpha centuri  desire awol to name just a few .Then labels and artist such as shades of rhythm warp warriors dance R&S etc Tricky disco got in the national charts and so did sweet love .dj magical erland went on to change his name to nicky Blackmarket and shaggy and breeze steve B frogga mad B T.D.K where all part of the london dj circuit.Barry Blue who was a part of london's Gunshot posse (british hip hop).friends radio went on to have a legal licence for the World party weekender in east anglia and where the talk of the event.In late 1991 madB (RoyB) decided he wanted to make is own style of music Brain studio in east london was the place quayside started from and DJ MadB bacame formula 7 its not just ragga became a massive hit over the xmas period because Dj groove Ryder nicky blackmarket Bizzy B friends radio brian Gee micky finn kenny ken Dr s Gashett and all the pirate stations in london.mo's music got exclusive distribution but only after ROYB had sold some fifteen hundread units in london and that was on public transport.formula 7 grew and so did quayside records and nobody new formula 7 was in fact the dj madB.The better days ep with its main track religion was a massive hit with both punters and dj'sand now formula 7 was an accepted artist among the dj comunity.DJ bones and opium came into the quayside fold and made the club hit dance with me from the madbones vol 1 ep.colin dale went on to feature the ep on his show and it came second on steve jacksons record of the week .The late john peel also played jodis theme and said he loved the jazzy vibe it had.Dance with me was then signed by german based label kosmo which was one of B.M.G sub labels, a video was shot and played on M.T.V. kicking records then came in and put out formula 7's first album expressions formula thought it was time for a break as he was not pleased with kicking or kosmo so he went college to learn learn somthing new he gained  a B.T.E.C certificate in music tecnology and some music software credits via the london school of music and east london university now comes the first quayside release in a while  a mix cd by some that to him his one of the main players of the london dance music sceane Nicky Blackmarket the cd will show case the quayside sound of where the label came from this will followed by formula 7's second album and some more mix cds from formula's son and crew BCG Then the madbones album for those of you that have helped us grow i thank you                      peace
